Treatment Style

Krysten utilises clinical psychology and forensic mental health knowledge to provide psychological therapy and assessment.

Krysten prefers a professional and practical therapeutic focus, with less jargon and more easy to understand language. For example, she aims to help clients identify how particular issues are connected to them, how to work with those issues, and why it’s important to do so.

Krysten aims to balance:

  • self-determination in recovery progress (i.e., person is expert on themselves and what they need/where they’re going)

  • taking responsibility (i.e., I can’t follow you out of here and make it happen for you)

  • accountability (i.e., checking in on whether they’re doing the work)

  • compassion (i.e., person’s ability to regard themselves with love and kindness)

Sometimes…

The bravest and most important thing you can do is show up.
